Michelle Lee has been sewing and working with textiles since she was a child. After a 15 year career as a professional costumer and seamstress in the entertainment industry, tired of the crazy schedule, she took an opportunity that led to a 9 to 5 job at a bank. A wise friend told her, “If you take this routine job, you have to take this class.” 

The class was studio weaving. The room, in an old elementary school cafeteria, was filled with more than 100 looms. Michelle fell down the rabbit hole. In the first year, she learned how to weave, spin yarn and knit. That same friend, and that class, formed the foundation of how Michelle teaches. 2023 marked twenty years of weaving and fiber arts for Michelle. Why is she still excited about it? Because experimenting and making things with yarn is always playtime! Michelle is very excited to join the team at MAC.
